Record each confirmed cost in its original currency. Separate monthly costs from one-time payments. Use exchange estimates for planning, then confirm the actual payment conditions.
Use your own confirmed costs
A student budget can include accommodation, education fees, transport, food, and personal spending. Use your own invoice, agreement, or written quote for each item. This guide does not supply current tuition fees, rent levels, or living-cost estimates for any institution or town.
Record the original currency. A payment quoted in GBP remains a GBP obligation unless the provider confirms another arrangement. A TRY estimate in your worksheet does not change the agreement. Ask the provider how it calculates any permitted payment in a different currency.
Separate recurring and one-time payments
Monthly costs belong in one section. Deposits, equipment, registration costs, and travel bookings belong in another. Do not divide a one-time payment across months and then forget its actual due date. A monthly average helps planning, but the full amount can still be due at once.
The following table uses invented amounts to show the method. It is not a suggested budget.
| Item | Original amount | Frequency | Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Example accommodation bill | 200 GBP | Monthly | Confirm due date |
| Example personal allowance | 4,000 TRY | Monthly | Track actual spending |
| Example equipment purchase | 80 EUR | Once | Keep outside recurring total |
Keep the original amounts visible even when you add a converted column. Record the date of each estimate. A later payment may use a different rate.
Calculate a comparison without fixing a future rate
For an invented sell rate of 60 TRY per GBP, buying 200 GBP costs 12,000 TRY before fees. At an invented rate of 63 TRY, the same purchase costs 12,600 TRY. The difference is 600 TRY. These two scenarios show sensitivity to a rate change. They do not forecast a future rate.
Use the conversion guide to choose the correct formula. Compare the total payment with the fees guide. Add only charges that the provider actually confirms.
Record support and transfer costs separately
If someone sends money to support you, record what they send and what you receive. Ask the transfer provider about its rate, charges, expected arrival time, and receiving conditions. An exchange-office cash quote does not necessarily apply to a bank transfer.
Avoid counting promised funds as received funds. Keep a separate status for expected, received, and paid amounts. This makes a delay visible before a payment date. Confirm sensitive account details directly with the intended recipient through a trusted contact method.
Review the budget at a useful interval
Choose a regular time to update actual spending and unpaid items. Keep receipts and remove duplicate entries. Do not change a confirmed original amount simply because its converted estimate moved.
For the arrival period, use the travel budget guide. Before a cash exchange, check the office map guide. You can save both links to the device's reading list.
What supports this method
The examples use original arithmetic and a simple record-keeping method. Your own agreements and provider confirmations supply the real amounts. The app's about page explains why comparison data cannot confirm a future transaction or an institution's payment conditions.
This content gives general information. Confirm the transaction rate, fees and cash availability with the office.
